Halloween Costume!!

This year for Halloween Brooklyn picked her own costume, she wanted to be a butterfly. We got her costume back in September and have had it on several times since then. She looks so cute in it and when she wears it she says she is "running away like a butterfly" she runs in circles with her hands out. Today she told me that she can't wait til it snows so she can make snow angels in her butterfly costume!!

Boo's 1st Big Boo Boo:-(

Brooklyn was in her toy room playing on her rocking horse the other night before bed, when all the sudden I hear this THUMP and then Brooklyn screaming at the top of her lungs. I thought she must have climbed up on top of her stove cause she always does and fell, but I ran in there and Papa had already beat me there. She was pointing to her chin telling me it hurt but I couldn't see anything on her chin, I looked in her mouth to make sure she hadn't bit her tongue or something and NOTHING. Then She looked up and there it was. She had hit her throat on her Big wheels peddal and boy did it leave a mark. Poor thing but with mommy's kiss and a cold rag she was ready to go again. She is a tough little monster.

Witches Broom's

I wanted to make something fun for Brooklyn for her Halloween Party at Daycare. I am not the most creative person and I heard my sister say she was making these cute Witches Brooms for her neighbors, so yep I did I stole her idea. Thanks Mar For letting me copy. They turned out so so cute, I put popcorn balls, Halloween pencils, and erasers, Marshmellow treats, and some other mixture of candy. Then we put a song on them that goes like this

One little, two little, three little witches.
Fly over haystacks, fly over ditches.
Fly over moonbeams without any hitches.
Hey, Ho Halloween Night!!

One little, two little, three little witches.
Fly over Barbwire and tore there Britches.
Had to go home and get some stitches.
Hey, Ho Halloween Night!!

We had so much fun making them we ended up making 14 total, and giving them to Brooklyn's 9 boy cousins. Poor thing is still the only girl.

We also went to the Bakery next to my work and got some super cute cookies for her Halloween Party too. They were Frankenstein, bats, and girl Frankensteins. SUPER SUPER CUTE!!

SWINE FLU

Poor Brooklyn and I had the swine flu. On Friday night she seemed to be doing fine after school. We had dinner and then headed up to Nate's house, she fell asleep on the way there and when I went to get her out of the car she was really warm to me. Brooklyn is a sweater and ususally gets pretty warm when she sleeps so I didn't think much of it. A few minutes later though I noticed she was still burning up and her feet were freezing, I knew it I just knew my baby had gotten the swine flu.. I gave her some motrin, but not before she started complaining that everything on her body hurt and that she needed a bandaid for her forehead cause it had a head ache. All she wanted was for mommy to hold her, but it felt like her temperature kept rising, (Nate's thermometer was broken) so I decided to put her in the bathtub to see if I could help cool her down. Well mommy had to get in with her so we had a bubble bath and hung out in the tub for 30 minutes, she started to perk up a little so the motrin kicked in and the bath seemed to help. Little did I know it wouldn't last for long. Within another hour she was awake again and wanting a bath with mommy. We spent lots of time in the tub that night, especially cause after that she started throwing up. Poor thing felt so miserable. I couldn't wait for morning to get there and it seemed like the longest night of my life although I know there is nothing you can do for the swine flu I just wanted to confirm it. 9am couldn't get there soon enough so I could take her into the clinic. When we got there it was the coolest she had been since the night before and her temperature was 103. No wonder she didn't feel good. In the waiting room she started to throw up, she threw up all over me and all over her jammies. Good thing for daddy today, he went and got her some new Dora jammies and me a clean shirt. Brooklyn fell asleep again while we were there and slept better than she had all night. When we left we went to get her some Tamiflu and boy did she hate that stuff, she also had to wear this little bag on her Dorothy to catch any urine in case she went while she was sleeping cause they thought she might have a bladder infection, and she really hated that especially when I had to take it off, but good thing we did it cause sure enough she had one. The next couple of days will be rough giving her this medicine cause she hates it so so much. On Sunday at work I started to sneeze alot and then felt like my nose and eye was burning, I told Cindy and Ben I bet I have the flu, we tested me later that night and sure enough POSITIVE. I don't have time to be sick, luckily it didn't get me to bad, just a mild headache and fatigue. Two days later my dad came down with it but we got him started on some medicine so he seems to be feeling much better.

Potty Trained!!

I have been slowly working with Brooklyn on trlying to get her potty trained but every time I ask her if she wants to go potty she tells me she already did. Meaning she did once before on the toilet and doesn't need to do it again. Well, all the sudden this week she tells me, "Mommy, I dont wear diapers o more", so she wanted to put on her "BIG" girl panties. So I got them out for her and started the routine again figuring she would try and not go and tehn pee on my floor. WRONG, a few minutes later she told me "Mommy I need to go potty" so I hurried and ran her into the bathroom sat her up on the toilet and she went pee pee, I was so proud of her and she was so proud of herself. The rest of the days no accidents, next day she still wanted to wear panties, so I sent her to daycare in panties, Ingrid said she made it half the day and only had one accident. That night none, Next day same thing, well anyways the first three days she had once accident a day now she doesn't have one, she has even been going to bed without a diaper already and still doing great. She has only peed the bed (at Nate's he he!!) once. I am so proud of my big girl, only one problem though I noticed she hadn't been pooping, so now when she needs to poop and I know cause she is in the bathroom every 2 minutes trying to go pee pee and can't I have to put a diaper on her cause she is scared to poop in the toilet. I will let you all know how it goes, and if any one has any advice as to how to get her to poop in the toilet please help!!

I love you Shanny!!

So my sister is having a really rough week it seems and I am hating the fact that I can not be there with her. I have been in tears almost all day, knowing how she must be feeling and just wanting to sit down with her and be there for her. I hope she knows how much I love her and am thinking about her. Brooklyn talks about baby Cashton everyday and tells me he is home with the angels. I can not even express into words how I feel right now or even know what to say to my sister. I just wish I could know what she needs and give it to her. I love you Erickson family. Stay strong, and remember he never said it would be easy, only that it would be worth it.
